Today Patrice O'Neal's death was confirmed after suffering from complications of a stroke that he had in October. I was just watching one of his stand-ups the other day and the big guy had a certain glow about him on stage that was very attractive and gave off great vibes. It's unfortunate that the world has lost a great entertainer, I hate to have to share the bad news.
New Kid Daytona featuring Brons, a very nice collaborative effort from the two. This is the second release from Daytona's Interlude II that drops December 19th.
New music from the Triple 6 mafioso and it's 28 cuts deep. The mixtape features a ton of surprise guests including Casey Veggies, Kreayshawn, 2 Chainz, and a slew of others.

G.R.A.M.Z. is a name that you will soon be very familiar with if you're not already. Dude is mad dope and bolsters a unique style as a rap recording artist. He reps the 4fun set which has been making a name for themselves as individuals as a well as a collective lately. You might have heard Ferg talkin shit on "Kissin Pink" which is my favorite track off of LiveloveAsap or on his collab with Vulkan on "Coke&Rum. "This is his first solo effort and I definitely urge you to check it out.

Its about that time. The new Bronsolini is already receiving great reviews and notoriety from widely read publications, check out this review from the Boston Globe newspaper. Once again there's the Ghostface comparison, but hey if I were an emcee i don't think I'd mind that parallel.

In this episode of "The Tanning Effect", Steve Stoute interviews Pharell on a variety of musical and non-musical subjects from Teddy Riley to Justin Timberlake. Very interesting is when he talks about Michael Jackson during the Timberlake segment. Props to the Huffington Post's Black Voices. Check out the videos son.
Mishka just recently released this lookbook that they put together for D.A.R.T. and it looks great. The line is inspired by the NYC track bike scene but as someone who doesnt necessarily identify with the bicyclist community I still appreciate the pieces and I think you can do the same. Check out the gear over at Mishka's online store if you're thinking about grabbing some for yourself.

You may have seen a few photos of Yeezy reppin some pieces from the highly anticipated V4HM line. This is set to be a very big release and a great cross marketing experiment for both companies. The line features some really fly pieces for both guys and girls and for high fashion the prices are pretty decent. The collection will be in selected stores starting November 19 at 8am but everything is expected to sell out quickly. In fact some fashion news articles mentioned today that stores will only open to the first 280 customers in line who will only be able to shop for 15 minutes, then allow the next 280 people and so on. I'm hoping to be in that first 280 to grab a few things for myself. Check out the collection for yourself at their Website
Rock Mecca sent his single over earlier and in my opinion it's pretty good. The track has a nostalgic style in the form of that classic New York street talk. This is the artists' first single from his debut album Pirate Radio Star. If you like this then stay tuned to hear more Rock Mecca cuts from his project that will be releasing later.

If you havent had an opportunity to check out this project from the Chicagoans you NEED to definitely give it a listen. The mixtape has received great reviews, including a rating of "XL" in XXLMag. With the blessing of Green Lantern the boys deliver a gangsta rap narrative that's fresh and powerful.

Here's a dude that I know very well from back home that has found his way to the big city of dreams. Since a young age I've known Thomas and he has a special talent and voice that the world needs to hear. He's a young man but his voice will remind you of a seasoned crooner when you hear it. If you're in the area on December 9, I strongly encourage you to stop through and show support.
Sir Francis of the Oceanic Territory has been killin it lately and shows no signs of slowing up. SBTRKT lends great remix production to an already dope Frank Ocean track.

All Com Sense fans stand up, No I.D. has released the tracklist for the Chicagoan's upcoming LP that's dropping in December. . . Maya Angelou is on the album, need I say more?

2. Ghetto Dreams (Feat. Nas)
3. Blue Sky
4. So Sweet
6. Lovin I Lost
7. Raw (How You Like It)

Stumbled upon this video and I can't really put my finger on it but something about it really attracts me. This song is dope and visuals are simple but get the job done. The simplicity of this track is a beauty. What's even more impressive is that this artist is only 17 years old, through Krule's music he gives voice to the kids who essentially fueled the past riots in London this summer. Check it out and see how you feel about the young Englishman.

Been waiting a while to hear some new material from my dude T Free, I met him not too long ago at North Carolina Central and it didn't take me long to realize T was a dope dude. A young man with an old soul, here is his debut mixtape, hope you enjoy this fly shit.

Alright here's something new from an artist many of you may not be familiar with. I definitely encourage you to take a listen to this tape, Rox Fontaine says that Madison is "probably the most dangerous artist that you've never heard of" and if you listen to this project then you'll see the evidence.
Overall the mixtape is well crafted and designed leaning more towards the direction of an actual album. It seems like the sounds were carefully chosen and arranged in the proper sequence as they seamlessly transition from one song to the next; the production on this tape is progressive and definitely stellar. Yet Madison doesn't just fall back and let the production run it's course, he delivers plenty of dope verses and lyrically driven concepts that are exceptional. Throughout the tape Madison's delivery and flow is on point and the artist has a strong voice that immediately commands the attention of the listener
I would highlight a few standout tracks but I think its important to consume this project in its entirety. "Vanilla Sky" is definitely one of the stronger projects that you'll hear this year, it's both musical and lyrical, the combination will make your eyes bleed. I strongly encourage you to check this out.

Aight readers. Here's the video for "Long Strange Trip" by the New York-based Iron Lyon featuring Boston native, Ed O.G. I posted about his EP, "Groundwork" a couple days ago. This video is very laidback, and if you know me, then you know that's my style. Production by Chad Dubz and video direction by Steve Osemwekhae. "Long Strange Trip" will be on the upcoming LP, "From The Ground Up", due out in early 2012.
